Chief Lighting Technician: works with the production to determine what effects need to be created, creates a plan to achieve the desired effects, and then directs the other members of the stage lighting department to set up the appropriate lighting equipment.
Chief Sound Technician: is responsible for and carries out duties as specified by the head of sound with production. The Sound Department works as a team and each member is responsible for taking an active role within it. The Chief Sound Technician is expected to work as part of a team, and direct others that are part of the sound crew.
Electricians: is responsible for tying in the multi-feeder cable from the production dimmer and amplifier production equipment into the facility or mobile power supply.
Over the years Local 55 lighting and sound enginee have worked on many rock and country shows along with theatrical productions and yellow card shows in the Roanoke Valley and throughout the region. Our skilled membership has also worked on many other productions including trade shows, and outdoor events as well.
